Very disappointing customer service experience. We came here to get help, not to be treated with disrespect. The employee handled the situation in a very unprofessional and humiliating way. Without asking for clarification, he threw my card into the trash. When I tried to explain that I always carry both my Costco credit card and my Costco membership card, he dismissed me and insisted he was right simply because he had worked there for many years. Instead of listening or providing a proper explanation, he refused to engage and continued to act rudely. I also felt that I may have been treated unfairly because I am Chinese and not a native English speaker. It seemed like he assumed he could speak down to me rather than communicate respectfully. This behavior is unacceptable. Customer service staff should treat customers with respect, patience, and professionalism. His attitude and actions do not meet those standards, and I strongly believe this issue should be addressed.

I had a very disappointing experience at the Costco Ashland customer service counter on May 29, 2026, between 4:45 PM and 5:00 PM. When I arrived, there were approximately five employees behind the counter (one male and four females). The gentleman at the far end was assisting customers with returns, while I waited at the other end for card services. What surprised me was that after one employee finished helping the customer in front of me, she simply walked away without acknowledging me or offering assistance. After waiting another minute, I stepped forward and asked another employee, Leanette, for help. She completely ignored me and acted as if she did not hear me. I then approached two other employees who were standing behind the counter chatting and asked if anyone was available to help. One of them told me to "just wait" and that someone would be there. Meanwhile, Leanette still did not say a single word and simply walked away as well. As this was happening, a line began forming behind me and several other customers were waiting. Eventually employees came over, but by then the lack of professionalism and basic customer acknowledgment was very noticeable. I understand that employees can be busy, but ignoring customers, failing to acknowledge them, and leaving the counter unattended is unacceptable customer service. A simple "We'll be right with you" would have gone a long way. Costco is known for its customer service, which is why this experience was so disappointing. The team working the customer service desk during that time needs better training on customer engagement and professionalism.

I’ll walk you through my Costco experience. As a pedestrian I love the stop light at the entrance and exit. The light makes movement easy and prevents cars and walkers crashing. I also like the view of the train tracks from the parking lot. I hope to view the parking lot from the train tracks one day. The greeters make Costco great. They know the answer to all of my questions (and I have a lot). I didn’t get to wander the inside for a long time but it is very very spacious. Great energy in there. I will be back.

I really dont leave this kind of review but its been 3 times that i have not been treated fairly at this location.I noticed that because I am an asian person they treat me a certain way and I can feel it or maybe its just me.I will give the 3 scenarios that happened to me at this location.I also know the employees names but i am not putting it here for their sake.I have given this place 3 strikes and Im not coming back.I rather go to orland park or glenview costco. The employees there are much nicer. 1. One time I was returning a shirt at this location. There is an entrance by the exit to go directly to the return counter. Before I even got in,a black guy who checks for my receipt for people who’s going out check my receipt.I honestly did not mind it at all,but he said to my face,”I need to make sure you didn’t stole it.” I was shocked and did not say anything to him, but I gave him a look like how could he judge me for what I look like and assumed I would steal something that I am about to return. The reason why I said that because there was another lady behind me who was returning something and he did not check that person at all and another guy. After buying things, when I came back out,he avoided me to check my receipt and the other person check my receipt. I told the other person please double check. I dont want to get accused of stealing anything. 2. I bought hotdog at the food court during rush hour.Lots of people waiting for their food including me.Since I know its going to take some time,I went to the restroom. When I came back, I went to the side and I just wanted to know if my number could possibly been called so I politely ask the black lady, “ What was the last number got called?”she looked really pissed and yelled at me.”Move away and wait for your number to get called!”everybody looked at me.It was very embarrassing.I didn't say anything back to her.I just went to the side. I think she may have been having a bad day because she was giving everyone attitude. She was slamming things and covering her face. She even put her nametag backwards after yelling at me. I get it. It gets overwhelming and busy sometimes but thats not the right way to respond to a simple question. She could easily ask be back what’s my number and then she can tell me that she hasn’t called it yet or if she already did. 3. I made an appointment online to do a balancing and tire rotation for 6:15 PM and I got there at 6:06 PM. The Hispanic guy ask me where is my wheel lock located. I told him it’s in the cupholder and I saw him put it on the notes on the computer that it’s located on my cupholder. Almost an hour pass, 6:53pm I got a call from the tire center asking me, where is the wheel lock. I told him it’s in the cupholder. at 7:01 I got a call again and wasn’t able to answer so I went to the tire center counter. I asked if my car was done because I got a call and it doesn't take an hour to do the job. He said it’s not. I asked him if I could wait outside for it. He said yes. I was very disappointed because I went outside to look at my car and the tires are out and the guys were just talking and laughing. My car is lifted already buy they didn’t even have my tires rotated yet. a hispanic guy asked me why I was standing outside close by the tire inflator in the parking lot. I responded to him that I’m looking right straight to my car and you guys are not working on it. They then started working on it. My car got finished At 7:47pm and that was really disappointing. They didn’t care about my car at all until I went out and was just looking at it. It wasn’t even that busy. I was ahead of other cars. I felt like they did my car last, even though it was the easiest job to do. It doesn’t take almost 2 hours to balance and rotate tires. He then drove my car to me and didn't even care, just left like nothing. COSTCO DO BETTER!! that was unacceptable! I hope you treat your customer fairly and train your employees to be nicer. honestly, i noticed that at this location, some employees tend to be racist

One of my favorite stores! Amazing prices, great quality, and so much variety. I love that they’re always bringing in new products — and the Asian food section is a hidden gem. Only downside: during peak hours, it feels like The Hunger Games trying to find parking and get through the lines 😅 That said, the staff does a great job keeping things moving, and people are surprisingly kind and helpful.
