I am disappointed with the customer service I received during my recent visit to Costco. My daughter and I were enjoying a slice of pizza in the food court when I noticed the staff beginning their cleanup procedures. I quickly went to refill my drink before leaving, but I was immediately turned away by an employee who simply stated that the soda machines had been shut down. What was most frustrating was not that the machines were off, but the lack of customer service and courtesy. There was no apology, no explanation beyond a brief statement, and no attempt to assist or acknowledge the inconvenience. A simple, "I'm sorry, sir, the machines have already been shut down for the evening," would have gone a long way. Costco has always been known for excellent customer service, which is why this interaction was disappointing. I hope this feedback can be used as a coaching opportunity to remind employees of the importance of treating customers with courtesy and professionalism, even during closing procedures.

Basically, wholesale mega store, with almost standard lay-out for all Costco , having electronics goods; clothings for men, women and children; grocery items ; fruits and vegetables, meat and fish; dry fruits; mats and accessories, bakery items, pharmacy, etc. Suggest Costco policy to be single or small packing of items ( as done for clothes) which would be convenient for bachelor or small family. Staff is helpful.

[See photo for reference] This Costco management can't decide on how they want to place their self checkout machines. Now, it's all in one row, side-by-side, making it confusing for us, as customers, where to place items BEFORE we scan them. They have two types of kiosks with one large tray on the left and one on the right. If you place them side-by-side, there's NO ROOM to place my items before I scan them because it is literally touching the other customer's kiosk. If I'm using kiosk B (see my photo) with our backs facing the entrance, there's another customer adjacent to me doing the same thing using kiosk A. You placed these kiosks in a way where the small trays are side-by-side with someone else's kiosk. This layout doesn't make sense if I have multiple items I need to place down. My items would get mixed with the other customer. Plus, there's no room to distinguish where I place my items!! If I use kiosk B, obviously I'm going to place my items in the large tray area as I walk up to it from the right. So then, why am I being yelled by at by a white male Costco employee, how to scan my items for purchase? The man tells me "you need to take the items off, then scan, then put your credit card in". I follow his instructions and do it over. Then he yells "NO! You're not getting it!!" Loudly, as customers are behind me. Sir, I do get it. Your kiosk layout is the problem as I can't see the small tray because there's literally another customer hovering over my kiosk. They have zero respect or kindness and just want your money at the end of day. Carmel Mountain employees need re-training and learn customer service or find another job that doesn't deal with people. Whoever approved this spacing needs some common sense and rethink your layout. Incredibly stupid of management and incredibly rude of the MALE employee mansplaining how to use a self checkout kiosk. Don't yell at me because of your inability to explain a customer that you guys move the machines for the umpteenth time in the last six months. Put the machines back in two rows, in the correct orientation, or just get rid of the machines altogether. This location is going downhill and the employees are the footprint of that.

Costco has earned a solid reputation in my book, especially when it comes to their food court. One thing that always stands out to me is their unbeatable deal: a delicious hot dog and drink for just $1.50. I’ve been going there for years, and this price has never changed. It may seem like a small thing, but it’s a big deal for us customers. It shows that Costco sticks to its principles of offering great value, even on the little things. I really appreciate that consistency and commitment to quality. Whether you’re grabbing a quick bite or doing your regular shopping, that hot dog is always a win. The only reason I’m not giving five stars is that sometimes the store can get crowded, and the lines at checkout can feel long during peak hours. But overall, Costco continues to deliver fantastic products at affordable prices.

I was visiting the area and stopped by this Costco on Carmel Rd to grab a few things. The store felt a bit chaotic, and the layout was kind of confusing compared to other Costco locations I’ve been to. The staff didn’t seem as friendly either. On the plus side, the gas station had no lines when I went around 3 p.m., which was a nice surprise.
