Costco Hawaii Kai is beautifully located on the water near Hawaii Kai. Depending on when you go, like any other Costco, is how crowded/empty it is. On this specific occasion, I visited the food court and was pleased to see they had added self-serve kiosks. BUT I opted to stand in line, because the self-serve kiosks were busy, and there was only one gentleman in line. I waited, looking at the menu, and when it was my turn, the cashier looked at me, as I handed him my Costco Credit Card to scan, turned away, and called to his manager and said, "Are we doing this?" while pointing to my card. Please note, he said nothing to me, nor was there a sign anywhere saying exactly what he was referring to. What I assumed was that the manager walked over and said, "Oh, if you are using a credit card, you have to use the kiosk." I then proceeded to say, " So should I get into the self-serve kiosk line now?" to which she said, "No, we can help you today." First of all, I know they are not there for customer service skills, but she should at least ask if I was paying cash first, because, as we all know, you need to show your card before you can order, so she assumed I was using a credit card to pay. Secondly, if you need customers to follow these rules, they should be clearly posted somewhere for us. She walked away just saying, "We can do it today!" (Photos were taken after I purchased my items) I love this Costco, but now I feel differently about how much customers are valued at this location.

The purple ube cream elixir that I came to Oahu for. Only 2 pineapples allowed per membership. All Atlantic salmon is sold out. I always knew in my heart that’s where sushi/ poke places get their supply. The cafe is Al freso here, gnat laden. Peaceful

We've shopped at many Costco in the continental US and the Hawaii Kai location is the most busiest. The store is clean and the shelves are well stocked. The local products available are fantastic that's not available anywhere else on the mainland. The cashiers are always friendly and helpful to our needs. The only thing that can be improved is to make the parking stalls bigger. The lot fills up very quickly before opening. Aloha and Mahalo for providing your excellent service.
